Quotes from Paul Hartford’s ‘Waiter to the Rich and Shameless’

Another one of the books I downloaded via Kindle Unlimited program. I enjoyed reading it. But once in a while it lost me as I found it slow.

Anyway, below are some quotes from the book:

“When you control someone’s entire evening or special event, that’s power. When you know their secrets and their habits and they know nothing about you, that’s power.” ~~ Paul Hartford (Book: Waiter to the Rich and Shameless)

“Nothing says a douche like being inconsiderate to people you think have no power.” ~~ Paul Hartford (Book: Waiter to the Rich and Shameless)

“Just because you can fit into your grandkids outfits doesn’t mean that you should wear them.” ~~ Paul Hartford (Book: Waiter to the Rich and Shameless)

“There is a distinct value in being served by someone who knows what you like and on whim you know you can rely.” ~~ Paul Hartford (Book: Waiter to the Rich and Shameless)

“Sometimes things that look good on paper, or sound logical around a conference table, don’t play out that way with real people in real life.” ~~ Paul Hartford (Book: Waiter to the Rich and Shameless)

“If money can’t buy happiness in this town, nothing can. Hollywood is the ultimate power place and power is built on money.” ~~ Paul Hartford (Book: Waiter to the Rich and Shameless)

“Turns out that everyone has the same body parts and when you smash them together it’s great but not everyone is compatible on a deeper level.” ~~ Paul Hartford (Book: Waiter to the Rich and Shameless)

“Some movie stars have huge, prideful egos; in other breaking news, the sun rose in the east today.” ~~ Paul Hartford (Book: Waiter to the Rich and Shameless)

“Women are only human – they have desires just like we do—but when they act on them they are considered sluts or tramps or whatever. Meanwhile, men who score look like heroes to each other. It’s totally unfair but there has always been a double standard and probably always will be.” ~~ Paul Hartford (Book: Waiter to the Rich and Shameless)

“All the money in the world isn’t worth being miserable. Pride, self-esteem and integrity can’t be bought.” ~~ Paul Hartford (Book: Waiter to the Rich and Shameless)

“No musician likes to sing or play someone else’s song in front of them. It can go extremely well or horribly wrong and it’s a gamble not many musicians want to take.” ~~ Paul Hartford (Book: Waiter to the Rich and Shameless)

“In life the unexpected happens and we can’t do much more than try to hang on to ourselves as the road turns and twists.” ~~ Paul Hartford (Book: Waiter to the Rich and Shameless)

“Everyone has options; you just need to gain the confidence to exercise them.” ~~ Paul Hartford (Book: Waiter to the Rich and Shameless)

“Whenever and wherever you gather the top tier of affluent society in one place --- and it’s a place in which they can have just about anything they want – you have to expect some kind of circus to ensue.” ~~ Paul Hartford (Book: Waiter to the Rich and Shameless)

“It’s better to grow in life than to be stuck doing something that is stagnating and uninteresting.” ~~ Paul Hartford (Book: Waiter to the Rich and Shameless)

“Sometimes you start focusing on the strings rather than the marionettes and suddenly the entire illusion is lost for you.” ~~ Paul Hartford (Book: Waiter to the Rich and Shameless)
